Plus d'informations
The WiiM Remote II is a physical remote control designed exclusively for the WiiM ecosystem: it works with the WiiM Mini, Pro, Pro Plus, Amp, Amp Pro and Ultra, and with no other third-party devices. The body is aluminium, measures 8.9 mm thick and weighs 80 g, making it feel more like a media player remote than the bulky audio remotes of old. WiiM designed it with three specific goals in mind: delivering real physical control without relying on your phone, charging via USB-C without disposable batteries, and responding from anywhere in the room without needing to point. One important note before you buy: this is a separately sold accessory and is not included in the box of any WiiM streamer or amplifier.
The connection is omnidirectional Bluetooth 5.0, with no line of sight required. That means you can leave it on the sofa with the streamer tucked away in a rack or behind a cabinet and the remote responds just the same. There is no need to aim it at the device as with classic infrared remotes. The clear limitation: it only communicates with WiiM devices. If you have a streamer or amplifier from another brand, this remote will not work with it.
It features a built-in 475 mAh battery that charges via USB-C, the same connector already used by most devices in the home. Charging time is approximately one hour. No batteries to buy, no batteries to replace: when it runs low, just plug in the cable and you are good to go.
The 4 programmable preset buttons store direct access to your favourite stations, playlists or sources. One tap and your go-to listening is playing, without opening the app or navigating through menus. For voice control, the remote integrates a MEMS microphone and works with Alexa via Push-to-Talk: hold down the button, say your command, and the connected WiiM streamer processes it. The difference compared to the original WiiM remote is that here the microphone is built into the remote itself, so you do not need an Amazon Echo speaker at home to use Alexa. Two honest things worth knowing: the remote has 13 buttons in total but has no screen, so there is no visual indication of the volume level; the RGW LED confirms the remote's status, but does not display numbers.
Which WiiM devices is the Remote II compatible with?
It works exclusively with the WiiM Mini, WiiM Pro, WiiM Pro Plus, WiiM Amp, WiiM Amp Pro and WiiM Ultra. It is not compatible with streamers or amplifiers from other brands.
Do you need to point the remote at the device for it to work?
No. It uses omnidirectional Bluetooth 5.0 with no line of sight required. It responds from anywhere in the room even if the streamer is inside a closed cabinet or rack.
How do you charge the WiiM Remote II and how long does it take?
Via USB-C cable. A full charge of its built-in 475 mAh battery takes approximately one hour. No disposable batteries are required.
Is the remote included in the box with the WiiM Amp or WiiM Ultra?
No. It is a separately sold accessory and is not included in the box of any WiiM streamer or amplifier. It must be purchased separately.
